A week today

This time next Saturday (September 1) you should be getting ready to attend Jack Grad's Harvest day.  I hear he has requested the day be a fine one.  Cool with sunshine, a slight breeze and lots of friends.  If you have been to the harvest day before, you will have notice the well built stooks standing in the field.  I have discovered the secret of their construction.  Jack goes to the Motherwell Homestead on their binding and stooking day to practice!  Here is the proof.

Results from pull in Whitewood August 12, 2012

I wasn’t in Whitewood for the pull on August 12th so I only know what I was told.  The trailers were rolling east down the highway pretty early, I know as I was headed west pretty early and they went by me.

The club welcomed another new member and maybe two.  Randy Banga who has been evener person for Wayne Nagy entered his own team in Whitewood.  For their first outing they did really well.  There is a lot of difference between pulling wagons and sleighs to pulling blocks of cement or ...

Coming later in the week

A Day at Findlater

Woke Saturday morning  August 11th, to rain.  Came out from breakfast to rain.  Arrived in Findlater……….. and found a gorgeous day happening and it stayed that way all day.  Sun was out and there was a slight breeze.  Perfect for a horse pull competition and ranch rodeo.  Not sure how the organizers in Findlater manage to get such beautiful days but hope they keep it up.

Results from August 4, 2012 Nokomis

The following teamsters attended the Nokomis pull -- Jack Grad with Rubin and BlackJack pulling in the middle weight.; Norman Vertefeuille with Kon & Ned pulling the heavy weight division; Rick Byrne with Sonny & Scotty pulling in the middle weight and Bill and Prince pulling in the heavy weight division; Ron Sebastian had Buster & Fritz in the light weight & Red and Cap in the middle weight.  Finishing the entrees was Wayne Nagy with Kernel & Clyde in the light weight and King & Queen in t...

Short notice of weekend actvities.

The QVHPC will be in Findlater on Saturday August 11, 2012 pulling in the arena at the Ranch Rodeo.  Action gets under way at 11:00.  Most of the club members will be there, some bringing two teams so there will definitely be lots of horse power.  I’m told that the club’s newest member, Ryan Ewen, will be in attendance.  Come and see why this young man received Class of the Class for his skill at handling at team, in Swan River.
