Qu'Appelle Valley Horse Pull Club

Newsletter

The pulling season has begun for the club.  A number of weekends are already booked.  Come out and see the sleek horses and shiny harness.

The first pull of the season was held at Vibank’s 100th birthday.  Eleven teams braved the elements to compete.  The weather clear just before the pull began and a large crowd gathered to watch and cheer.  Kim Hewalo/Earl won the light weight division; Norman Vertefeuille/Earl won the middle weight; Norman Vertefeuille/Earl won the heavy weight.  Thank you goes out to Jack Grad for organizing the pull.

Four teamsters and eight teams are competing at the Calgary Stampede this year.  We wish them well!

Weyburn starts the month of July off with a competition on July 6.  Each weekend for the month the teams are out impressing crowds.  Check the schedule to see if they will be close to you and come out and meet the men/women and horses.  Findlater is hosting their Ranch Rodeo on August 6.  The QVHPC will be starting the day off with a competition at 10:00AM.

To book the club for your next event or if you would like information about the club, please contact Norman Vertefeuille @ 306-731-3108 or e-mail QVHPC@yahoo.ca.
